Thank god.According to Dejan Kovacevic's PBC Blog on the post-gazette website the Pirates have traded first baseman Adam LaRoche to the Boston Red Sox for two minor league players. The two players are AA shortstop Argenis Diaz and single A pitcher Hunter Strickland.Diaz is considered to be a major league talent in the field but he hits like poop. Sounds a little like the guy we got playing shortstop right now.Hunter Strickland is a big kid that throws his fastball in the 87-91 range.Neither player sounds to exciting but what would you expect the Pirates to get in return for an average first baseman that hits .250? Especially when the team that lands him will only have his services for two more months.Adam seemed like a nice guy and all but watching him at the plate was maddening.
