Adam Morrison (yes, THAT Adam Morrison) made a very effective argument for a return to the NBA as he buried the Celtics with 26 points and 6 rebounds. It was his day as the crowd showered him with cheers of MVP.   The Celtics for their part, looked tired and just couldn't seem to score with any consistency. Playing in 10 games in 14 days, along with the shock of losing 3 players from a team that was playing like a well oiled machine proved to be too much for them as they dropped their 3rd game in a row.

Dionte Christmas struggled in this game shooting 1-4 for 6 points to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. However his steady play in the rest of the games won him a spot in training camp and he found out just minutes before the game that the contract had been agreed upon. He was one of the big surprises and his signing is a feel good story to end the two weeks of Summer League.

Jared Sullinger is another player that everyone was watching. After the 2 weeks in Orlando and Vegas, Sullinger proved he can rebound at the NBA level. He also showed that he will play mostly below the rim, but he has great fundamentals and knows how to play the game. He can use some conditioning and to lose a few more pounds, and he could use a little polish on his post moves, but he works hard and is very willing to learn from the coaches and from Kevin Garnett. He's a good rebounder and can get himself to the line. As we've seen in Summer League, the fundamentals are all there and he just needs a little work to make an impact in the NBA.

Kris Joseph was called the “biggest surprise of the summer league” by Doc Rivers. Joseph's numbers weren't eye popping, but he can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket and he played under control. Like Sullinger, he has the fundamentals down and has proved that he can play. He injured his knee in the second game in Vegas that that hindered him somewhat in the final 3 games. He reminds me a lot of Paul Pierce's game.

Fab Melo was the other player that Celtics fans had their eyes on. He didn't particularly stand out but did show flashes at times of the athleticism that will possibly make him a player in the league. He's raw and a project, but the talent is there. He will benefit immensely from KG's tutelage. I'm just sad that we no longer have Clifford Ray, who would work wonders with a player like him.

But, the Celtics just couldn't answer the hot shooting of the Clippers in this game and lost 92-77. They finished with a 2-3 record in Vegas, but left Orlando with 4 wins vs just 1 loss. In spite of the final 3 losses, the Summer Celtics acquitted themselves quite nicely and gave fans a fun 2 weeks of basketball along with some hope for the future.
