With 2,097 yards rushing for the season, Adrian Peterson did something that no running back in the NFL has ever done -- come close to a record after major knee surgery.In the 2011 season, Peterson had suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his knee. Most fans thought that Peterson's career would not be the same if he came back.Going into the 2012 season, Adrian Peterson held nine records as a running back in the NFL.There was one record that Adrian Peterson hadn't broken - the single-season rushing record held by Eric Dickerson. Peterson would be fortunate to play in the Vikings' first game of the season, but he played and gained 84 yards with two TDs to help his team defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars in overtime.By the end of the season, Peterson and the Vikings would have a 10-6 record and make the playoffs.Adrian Peterson not only became a top candidate for the NFL MVP award and Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2012, but came up only nine yards short of that NFL single-season rushing record. The record was one amazing thing for Peterson to chase while returning from an injury, but the biggest accomplishment was the effect that Peterson had on the team after such a severe injury. The Minnesota Vikings were an outstanding team in 2009 with Brett Favre taking them one game away from a Super Bowl. After a combined record of 9-23 between the 2010 and 2011 seasons, in 2012, Adrian Peterson would carry the Vikings to the playoffs.Adrian Peterson's 2012 story could be the greatest in the NFL's history. Sweetheart's Stuff Well cheers to Purple Jesus !! His daddy gave him the nickname "All Day", (which got shortened to A.D) because he could go all day. That was the good ol' days before everyone starting attaching a clinical name to everything. Now, he would be diagnosed with ADHD.It's no surprise he's a great football player...he's from Texas. You either ride a bull or play football. He's been a rushing champion, a rushing leader and a Rookie of the Year. He's got more awards than I do shoes!I'm just not sure why he's rushing around all the time. If this football thing doesn't work out, guess he can go ride a bull.Sincerely,Sweetheart
