Some of you might have wondered what was going on Tuesday morning when Dan Shanoff posted his final Wake-Up Call here on The Sporting Blog. Today I deliver some news with a heavy heart that The Sporting Blog will no longer continue here on SportingNews.com.This whole thing started back in 2007 under the guidance of Chris Mottram, who departed for SB Nation just over a year ago. I've had the pleasure of steering the ship for the period of time since his departure. Just as Mottram had the chance to work with talented people like Dan Shanoff, Brian Powell, Nathaniel Friedman (aka Bethlehem Shoals), Tom Ziller, Will Brinson and Dave Larzelere, I had a my own roster of all-stars with Dan Levy, Michael Tunison, Andy Hutchins, LSUFreek, Brian Cook and Eric Freeman. I still feel very good about a lot of our work being entertaining and interesting to read. We had coverage at multiple Super Bowls, All-Star Games and the Final Four.
