By Jason Benfari July 27, 2009The normally reserved and highly respectful UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, recently let loose on everything from Shogun Rua vs. Lyoto Machida to his thoughts on possible challenges from fellow Brazilians Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva.
"I'm going to root for Lyoto [Machida]," Silva told Combat Brazil. "I'm not saying Shogun is not prepared but how long did Lyoto have to wait to get a title shot? The truth is, Shogun fought twice and how many fights Machida have to do? Its obvious that something is up. I'm not here to speak badly of anyone, but life is made of chances and I said to our managers this fight shouldn't happen. Shogun didn't fight enough to deserve the shot. The thing is precious and if I was Lyoto I wouldn't accept the fight. He is a great champion and must be respected but this is my opinion. [That said], I have a lot of respect for Shogun, who is a great athlete that has showed go...
