Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE Though his hairstyles are continuing to get more and more interesting, Philadelphia 76ers fans won’t be very pleased that they may have to wait even longer to see their star center in Andrew Bynum to make his debut with the team. The All-Star center recently told the Associated Press that he suffered a “setback” on his return date to the court. Bynum has been recovering bone bruise on his right knee and it marks the third time that his return date has been pushed back since the time of training camp started. Bynum was expected to start doing basketball activities by Dec. 10, but that may be pushed back as well. The return date is now a huge question-mark, as Bynum states that the bone bruises are on both of his knees. “I had a little bit of a setback,” Bynum said. “Just working through some issues with the right knee, I kind of have a mirror thing going on with the left knee. I don’t know what’s going on. The doctors are saying it’s a weakened cartilage state, so we kind of wait, I guess. We can’t do anything. I just have to wait for the cartilage to get strong.” The Dec. 10 return would mean for Bynum to train for four weeks and then make his debut with the Sixers sometime in January. Now his official return to the basketball court could be by mid-January or so. However, he is still targeting the Dec. 10 date for basketball activities. “It’s the same exact spot (as the right knee) with the cartilage,” Bynum said. “Just doing routine things and it started swelling up. No blunt-force injury or anything like that. It’s the same timetable still.” Bynum was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal that made the Orlando Magic send off Dwight Howard. Though the Magic didn’t get much, this trade so far is starting to look more and more better for Orlando and Los Angeles. The post Andrew Bynum Has Setback on Return appeared first on FootBasket.
