Former World No. 1 ranked player Andy Roddick will go into this year's U.S. Open with a great deal of confidence given his form in recent months. Roddick reached the Wimbledon Final where he lost an epic five-set match to World No. 1 ranked Roger Federer. The American backed up that superb run by reaching the Final of the Legg Mason ATP Event in Washington DC and the Semi Finals of the Rogers Cup in Montreal, losing on both occasions to the Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro. In 2003, Roddick enjoyed one of the best streaks in the history of men's Tennis, winning the Masters Series Event in Montreal and Cincinnati before going on to win the U.S. Open, which to date is the only Grand Slam triumph of his career.
