You just know they will. That's because to them every animal and insect is a beautiful, heaven-sent creature and life is all about rainbows and unicorns, or something like that. After a swarm of bees delayed yesterday's Astros-Padres game by almost an hour, the bees were massacred by a local beekeeper and play resumed. We all know that PETA wouldn't miss a chance at some free publicity, or a way to easily piss off even more people than they already do. Look, I'm all for saving the whales and not murdering animals to make coats, but bee stings hurt and if you're allergic to them, like Padres outfielder Kyle Blanks, then it's even scarier. I never hear any whispers out of PETA when horse breeders shoot a horse with a broken ankle when, even though it could live, it can't run or breed anymore. So please, PETA, if you're reading (why wouldn't you be?!) just leave this alone. There are plenty of bees out there.
