TUCSON, Ariz. So much for NFL Draft projections. Arizona quarterback Matt Scott, widely expected to be a mid-round pick, watched seven rounds come and go over the weekend and did not hear his named called among the 254 picks. But on Saturday night, the 2012 All-Pac-12 second-team pick and NFL Scouting Combine standout tweeted that hed be signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent. Headed to Jacksonville! Matt Scott (@mscottqb10) April 27, 2013Got a chip on my shoulder I'm coming for someone's spot yougonelearntoday jaguars Matt Scott (@mscottqb10) April 28, 2013 Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert are the quarterbacks for the Jaguars, who did not take a quarterback in the draft. In his quest to earn a roster spot, Scott will have the help of someone who knows him quite well. Former Arizona quarterbacks coach Frank Scelfo now holds the same position for the Jaguars after helping to develop both Scott and Nick Foles before him. Scott wasn't the only Arizona player to go unselected, as the program was shut out of the draft for the first time since 2005. While Scott was often linked to the Philadelphia Eagles in mock drafts, which did not come to fruition, center Kyle Quinn tweeted Saturday night that he is headed to Philadelphia on a free-agent deal to join Foles. Wide receiver Dan Buckner also is expected to receive NFL interest but has not announced whether he has agreed to a contract.
