Fox Sports Southwest:
If Nolan Ryan wants to remain in baseball, the obvious destination would be the Houston Astros.
Ryan played part of his Hall of Fame career with the Astros and his son Reid Ryan is the team's president. Ryan also owns the Astros Double-A franchise in Corpus Christi.
Houston owner Jim Crane, who bid against Ryan's group to buy the Rangers in 2010, didn't say anything Thursday to quiet that speculation.
"I like Nolan and at some point if Nolan wanted to do something, we're all ears," Crane told MLB.com's Brian McTaggart.
Ryan said Thursday that his immediate plans include spending time on his ranch and playing with his grandchildren. But he didn't rule out a return to baseball.
"I'm not going to sit here and tell you what a year from now might bring," Ryan said. "This may be the final chapter of my baseball career. I know that if there was something else I did, it wouldn't be in the role I played here with the Rangers."

Recently it was suggested that I check out some of the Texas Rangers “back in the day” greats. My knowledge of the game before my birth was a little bit foggier so I did my research on a few suggested players and stumbled across a couple interesting guys myself. Here are some guys who I wish I had seen take the field in a Rangers uniform.
Toby Harrah was actually...

Another off season and it appears the Rangers and Los Angeles Angels may be fighting over a key free agent.
His name is Tim Bogar. And he’s a career .228 hitter.
This time however neither team is looking for a bat or an arm to bolster their chances of AL West supremacy. It is his mind they are after. According to a major league source the Rangers interviewed Bogar a former infielder...
By reaching 55 games finished this season Joe Nathan got the ability to decline his 2014 option and T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports that the Rangers expect the veteran closer to do exactly that.
Nathan would be turning down $9.5 million for 2014 but he’s looking for a multi-year deal and even at age 38 he’s been dominant enough to warrant it on the open market. Nathan saved...
