Tyler Greene won't make Astros. — Brian T. Smith (@ChronAstros) March 24, 2013 The Astros recently signed infielder Ronny Cedeno, and general manager Jeff Luhnow has made it clear that he’ll be the team’s regular at shortstop heading into the 2013 season. Following the addition of Cedeno, there isn’t a spot on the Astros’ roster for Greene. Greene was acquired by the Astros from the St. Louis Cardinals last summer. The 29-year-old has experience all over the infield, and he spent most of last season at second base and shortstop. Over parts of four seasons in the majors, he owns a career batting line of .224/.292/.356. He hit .230/.274/.400 with 15 doubles and 11 home runs last season for the Cardinals and Astros.
