But still it IS a pretty huge freakin’ deal when the 23rd Greatest Devil Ray Ever, Akinori Iwamura gets dealt to deepest coal-darkened Pittsburgh.
In return for Iwamura, who was made expendable by the MVP-worthy season of Ben “Zorilla” Zobrist, our beloved Devil Rays are getting right-handed reliever Jesse Chavez.
Chavez played his first full big league season in 2009, posting a 4.01 ERA in 73 appearances (67.1 ip), with 47 Ks and 22 walks.”
