It's not like there is a shortage of people out there saying there is no way a woman can play in the NBA, even if it is Brittney Griner. But until now the news cycle on Mark Cuban's suggestion he would consider drafting Griner to the Dallas Mavericks has lacked a true foil. Enter Connecticut women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma, who has never seemed to mind playing the turd in the punch bowl, and happens to have a great deal of credibility when it comes to women's basketball. He being the women's basketball coach at the most dominant women's basketball program and all. "I think it would be a sham," Auriemma told ESPN. "The fact that a woman could actually play right now in the NBA and compete successfully against the level of play that they have is absolutely ludicrous." So that's where this stands. The most prominent women's basketball coach saying what just about everybody else was thinking. Anybody else starting to feel like they're following a bouncing ball on this one?
