The 6-5 Seattle Seahawks travel to Chicago, for the fourth time in three seasons, to face the 8-3 Chicago Bears. Apparently NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, has been too busy turning the league into flag football in recent seasons to notice this scheduling oversight. Granted, one of the visits occurred during the 2010 NFC Playoffs, but it seems reasonable to have Bears visit Seattle at some point doesn’t it? This is a pivotal game for the Seahawks playoff aspirations. Seattle is currently tied with Tampa Bay and Minnesota for the sixth seed in the NFC but if the playoffs started today, the Seahawks would qualify for the postseason on tiebreakers. The magic number of wins needed to make the playoffs in the NFC this season appears to be nine, and the 6-5 Seahawks have three home games remaining. A road victory, a feat Seattle appears incapable of achieving, may not be necessary to reach the postseason, but obviously, a win in Chicago would leave the Seahawks in a fantastic p...

Rookie Wilson guides Seahawks to OT win

CHICAGO -- Quarterback Russell Wilson of Seattle is no longer short nor a rookie. Well, actually, he's still both of those things, but don't try telling that to the Chicago Bears -- or to the Seahawks, for that matter. Wilson stood tall and played like a poised veteran Sunday, directing a magnificent drive late in the fourth quarter and then another in overtime, eventually...

Wilson stuns Bears in overtime

Russell Wilson's late-game heroics help the Seattle Seahawks topple the Chicago Bears 23-17 in a back-and-forth overtime contest at Soldier Field.

Wilson shows 'exquisite poise' in win

Russell Wilson was trying to share the credit, spread it around to all different teammates, when he came to this: "Matt Flynn goes out there to get the coin toss flip, and that was big for us.'' Matt Flynn. Yes, I remember him. He's the guy Seattle signed for $29.5 million to run the offense. We haven't heard from him since, though he has apparently developed...

Julius Peppers told reporters with the Chicago Tribune that Russell Wilson caught the team off guard. “He likes to play with his legs,” defensive end Julius Peppers said via the Chicago Tribune. “We weren’t prepared for it, but he did a good job today.” How in the world is that possible? The Seahawks noticed the Bears were caught flat-footed The post Julius Peppers...

Russell Wilson leads Seattle to late win against Chicago

The Chicago Bears needed to keep Jay Cutler upright if they were going to defeat the Seattle Seahawks. They did that but it was their defense who could not contain Seattle’s Russell Wilson late in Sunday’s game. Earlier in the week, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said that the training wheels were off of the offense. Wilson attempted a career high 37 passes against the Bears...

Saints' Brodrick Bunkley hit with $20,000 fine for kick

The NFL has deemed that Saints defensive lineman Brodrick Bunkley's kick to the head 49ers OL Alex Boone was $10,000 less of an infraction that Ndamukong Suh's groin kick to Texans' QB Matt Schaub. Are we the only ones who think the NFL is all of the place this year in it's consistency regarding discipline? First, Roger Goodell says he wasn't sure of Suh&...

Time To Russell Up Some Recognition For Wilson

I know I had a million other people I could’ve made the lead out of from yesterday’s games but I think you’ve already heard of them and you already know how good they are and what they do.  Don’t worry, I’ll be able to talk about them below.  What you need to realize is for all the accolades being shined on Luck and RGIII, Russell Wilson is putting together a strong year...

Roger Goodell is up for TIME’s “Person of the Year”, probably won’t win

TIME Magazine is currently enlisted votes for their “Person of the Year” for 2012. The candidate list is littered with people you’d expect to see: Bill Clinton, Gabby Douglas, Hilary Clinton, Michael Phelps, and President Obama. But a rather surprising name that made the list is Roger Goodell. Especially when you look back through his 2012. A 2012 that included NFL players...

Jovan Belcher Reportedly at this hour the Carolina Panthers are going ahead with flying to Kansas City for a scheduled game tomorrow…just hours after Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher committed suicide in front of coach Romeo Crennel and other team officials, after he...

Rice TD gives Seahawks 23-17 OT win over Bears

On target with his passes, too fast with his feet and composed when he could have wilted down the stretch, Russell Wilson was simply having a blast. Why wouldn't he?
