GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Chicago Bears knew the score well before they took the field Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. If they lost at University of Phoenix Stadium, they'd get knocked out of the playoff race. If they won, they'd still be alive with a chance to snag an NFC wild-card berth. The Bears, who lost five of their previous six games, breathed a sigh of relief and kept their postseason hopes in sight with a 28-13 victory. Chicago (9-6) concludes the regular season next week with a game at Detroit. The Minnesota Vikings (9-6) finish with a home game against the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers. Should Chicago win and Minnesota lose, the Bears would clinch a postseason berth. The Bears got two touchdowns from their defense Sunday, including a 10-yard interception return from cornerback Charles Tillman. The Cardinals (5-10) made another quarterback change en route to their 10th defeat in the past 11 games. Rookie Ryan Lindley was benched following the...

Joey Porter was arrested on Friday night on a felony charge of writing bad checks. Here are some of the details.

The Bears can't protect Cutler enough to win the Super Bowl. Week 17 Power Rankings.

The Bears are winning now but their offensive line cannot protect Cutler in the playoffs. Here are my Power Rankings and a quick note about each team. 1) San Francisco - Don't panic, Seattle doesn't lose at home. 2) Texans - They are solid on both sides of the ball. 3) Patriots - Suspect defense keep them from the top spot. 4) Denver - On the rise, are they a Super...

Matt Forte believes he’ll play next week despite ankle injury

During Sunday’s win over the Cardinals, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte aggravated the same ankle that he injured earlier in the season. Forte made it clear that he’ll play in next week’s regular season finale. “I can’t see myself missing next week,” Forte said. Forte is of course frustrated with getting injured again. “Frustrating,” Forte said. “But I just...

Bears need help from Packers to make playoffs

The Chicago Bears might be rooting louder for Green Bay than even the most loyal Packers fans this week. They need an assist from their biggest rivals. The Bears (9-6) kept themselves in playoff contention with a 28-13 victory at Arizona on Sunday. Now they must win at Detroit this week, and that's just the start. Coach Lovie Smith acknowledges it's ''not an ideal...

Bears Injury Report: Brandon Marshall, Tim Jennings, Earl Bennett

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is probable to today against the Arizona Cardinals, but wide receiver Earl Bennett and cornerback Tim Jennings are questionable to suit up. Marshall was added to the Bears injury report on Thursday. While his hamstring injury limited his participation in practice Thursday and Friday, he is still considered probable to suit up against...

This Fake Field Goal Pretty Much Sums Up the Arizona Cardinals Season

The Arizona Cardinals lost to the Chicago Bears today 28-13, taking them to 5-10 on the season.  This fake field goal by Jay Feely pretty much sums up their season.  One of the uglier fake attempts I've ever seen capped off with a fumble.  Time for Arizona to get a quarterback that can get better than a 50 qb rating. P.S.  I was quite happy about the crappyness of the...

Bears' D Dominates the Cardinals: 5 Things We Learned

The Arizona Cardinals began the season a promising 4-0 yet have fallen to 5-10 after losing to the Chicago Bears, 28-13, who snapped their three-game losing streak to improve to 9-6. The Bears keep their postseason pursuit alive thanks to a strong defensive performance complete with two defensive TDs by Charles Tillman and Zack Brown. We already knew the Bears have a strong defense...

Arizona Cardinals fan is excited after receiving Sam Acho’s glove

One fan of the Arizona Cardinals will be happy this holiday season. A young fan was given a glove from Cardinals linebacker Sam Acho and reacted like any child would on Christmas morning. He was excited. Of course some fans are asking for a bit more then a glove.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger?

Challenge….accepted. Chicago Bears future Hall of Fame Inside Linebacker Brian Urlacher  re-iterated something the other day which has piqued my interest for a couple of months now. Half of his sentiment drew staunch criticism from all sources but the other half, at least to some extent, rings true. Last weekend, the previously 7-1 Bears slipped to 8-6, having lost 5 of the last...

Cardinals dealt familiar loss by Bears

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- A week after ending a nine-game losing streak, the Arizona Cardinals were back to their bumbling ways. Turns out, they are who we thought they were. Rookie Ryan Lindley had an interception returned for a touchdown before being replaced, Beanie Wells lost a fumble that was recovered for another score and Arizona's offense continued to sputter in a 28...

The Unthinkable Becomes A Reality: Bears Need Packers To WIn

If you're a Bears' fan, take a look outside and you might see the devil in a Bubble coat with a skull cap on shaking in the snow.  Coming into Sunday, the Chicago Bears needed to win out the season just to have a chance to get in the playoffs. They accomplished the first part by dominating the Arizona Cardinals, 28-13. They had a few scenarios that could help them get into...
