Heavyweight will tangle on the UFC’s next event in Brazil as Ben Rothwell is scheduled to meet one-time UFC heavyweight title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga. The heavyweight bout will take place Jan. 19 at an unannounced UFC event in Brazil, which is likely to air on FX or FUEL TV in the United States. The bout was first reported by Brazilian news outlet TATAME. Rothwell (32-8) is coming off a thunderous first-round knockout of Brendan Schaub at UFC 145 in April. He was supposed to fight Travis Browne at UFC on FOX 4 in August, however an injury forced ‘Big Ben’ off the card just days before the event. Gonzaga (13-6) successfully returned from his short-lived retirement at UFC 142 in January when he submitted Ednaldo Oliveira in the first round. It was Gonzaga’s first UFC win since August 2009 and he will look to piece together back-to-back wins for the first time in over four years with a victory over Rothwell. A location or venue for the Jan. 19 event is unknown at this time. ________...
