TE Kellen Winslow had one of his most productive games since joining the Bucs in 2009, but it was a performance that will be mixed with a pair of costly miscues that loomed large in the game’s outcome.
Winslow – who finished with a career-high 132 yards on nine catches – had a touchdown negated with 5:07 left in the third quarter, when he was flagged for offensive pass interference. That nullified the 4-yard fade pass he had caught from Josh Freeman for a would-be touchdown.
The Bucs wound up settling for a field goal that trimmed the score to 21-13.
Then, when the Bucs positioned themselves to tie the score with a touchdown with 13:11 left in the fourth quarter, Winslow dropped a two-point conversion pass from Freeman despite having two hands on the ball. The pass was thrown slightly behind him, but Winslow made the proper adjustment and seemed able to bring the ball in.
