Big Ten Behind in Bowl Position, BCS Stance According to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, the Big Ten Conference has put itself in a poor position to win bowl games. By intentionally striving for difficult opponents and the toughest opportunities, the result is a negative reputation for the meager conference performance as a whole. Rittenberg suggests changing the bowl lineup, finding better athletes at QB and DB spots, winning the Rose Bowl, and restoring the big brands of the conference. Jim Delany is also behind the times again with SEC commissioner Mike Slive speaking out about the momentum gaining behind the idea of a BCS Plus One system. Delany seemed ahead of the game by bringing in Nebraska to strengthen the conference, but there are clearly critics to his approach on Bowls and BCS.
