The Boston College football team is not having a very good year, but a win against undefeated Notre Dame on Saturday would go a long way towards salvaging the Eagles’ season. The Eagles have had their memorable wins over the Fighting Irish in previous years, most notably spoiling Notre Dame’s undefeated seasons in 1993 and 2002. With the Irish heading to Chestnut Hill on Saturday the owners of a 9-0 record and the No. 4 ranking in the country, the time would be ripe for another stunning upset. Linebacker Bill Romanowski, who played for BC from 1984 to 1987 before moving on to the pros, gave an inspired pep talk Thursday on ESPN, encouraging the Eagles to “play like a fist” and “do damage” to the Irish.
