A sad day in Yankeeland: Bobby Murcer has lossed his battle with brain cancer. The news was announced right after the Yanks' 9-4 victory in Toronto. He was just 62.I'm too young to have watched Bobby during his playing days, but I always enjoyed hearing him on TV calling games. He was always in a positive mood even after his diagnosis and was enamored with baseball like a little kid at his first big league game. He seemed like a great, simple man and if you watched enough games, it felt like you knew him because he was so affable at the mic. I'll definitely miss not hearing his voice again over the airwaves.
