PLAYERS: DeShawn Sims
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
DeShawn Sims will compete for a roster spot. Sims, a former Michigan Wolverine, has received an invitation to training camp from the Boston Celtics. For everyone that is asking about my basketball future I will be attend Vet Camp and Starting this season with the Celtics! — Deshawn Sims (@Peedi3416) August 26, 2013 This is not Sims’ first go-around with the Celtics. After being undrafted in 2010, the 6-foot-8 forward played four games in the Orlando Summer League for the Celtics. In the NBA D-League with the Maine Red Claws, the 25-year-old averaged 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in four games. Austin Ainge, who coach for the Red Claws in that respective season, may have educated his father on what type of player Sims is — just a guess.

Your Morning Dump… Where Avery Bradley is packing on the muscle

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Marshon Brooks Gets A Visit From YMCA Youth

I, for one, am pretty excited to see Brooks in green this season. I think he is still young and raw but very talented. He should be able to develop more under the Celtics franchise than during his time in NJ/Brooklyn. Once he realizes his defensive abilities and puts together a more mature all round game, I truly believe he can become an all star caliber player. But I digress, here...

Avery Bradley says he's put on muscle, isn't concerned with contract extension

Avery Bradley joined Celtics' broadcaster Cedric Maxwell for a charity event today, where the Celtics presented a family in New Hampshire with a "RE/Max home court remodel" (judging from tweets it appears the family got a furnished basketball court..not sure if they received anything else). At the event, Bradley spoke about a number of things, including his physical...

Olynyk is enjoying the ride so far

Only about 50 days had passed since Kelly Olynyk was last in Boston but boy had expectations grown.
