from Daniel Nugent-Bowman of the StarPhoenix, For the NHL to regain its status as one of North America’s top professional sports leagues, Phoenix Coyotes development coach Dave King believes there needs to be hockey in 2012-13. “It’s almost preposterous to think our sport would have two lockouts, two seasons with no games, so close together. It’s unheard of in professional sport,” said King, who was announced Wednesday as one of three 2013 Order of Hockey in Canada honourees. “If we want to maintain our creditability for television networks, our creditability for sponsorships for our teams and all of those financial issues that are so important to the survival of the game, we can’t have another work stoppage go the complete season. It just doesn’t make any sense. We all know we can’t go there.” continued
