For some unknown reason Ricardo Mayorga has been given a shot at Miguel Cotto’s WBA Light Middleweight title, but bookmakers are not giving him much of a chance to win it.
It looks like the Nicaraguan has come out of retirement to take one more run at a title, but everyone knows that he’s getting into the ring against Cotto for a quick payday.
If you think that Mayorga can relive former glory and upset Cotto he will pay a tidy profit of +600. He’ll have to do it in the first couple of rounds before his age catches up with him, but he does have a puncher’s chance to provide a big payday.
Cotto should have an easy day at the office against the aging Mayorga and will look to weather the early storm and then pick apart the challenger. Even as the heavy -1200 favorite the price seems fair.
Saul Alvarez vs. Matthew Hatton should be another safe-money opportunity, with Alvarez going into the fight as a -1200 favorite. A Hatton upset will pay as much as +775.
