ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams have postponed quarterback Sam Bradford's knee surgery, which had been scheduled for Tuesday, due to swelling. Coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday no new date has been set for the procedure to repair a torn left ACL, but anticipated it would be soon. The team previously announced the surgery would be done by Dr. James Andrews, who also operated on the quarterback's shoulder at Oklahoma. "It will be in the near future," Fisher said. "During some of the rehab, he swelled up a little bit, so we just decided to wait. Nothing to be alarmed about." Bradford has been exercising to strengthen the knee and quadriceps prior to surgery, perhaps easing the rehab path. He's also been on his feet a lot at practice and on game days. The Rams anticipate Bradford, the first overall pick of the 2010 draft, will be back in time for next year's opener. "Back in the old days, they'd cast you for half your life," Fisher said. "Now, you come out of the procedure and they're already working on the range of motion, so it's different. That's why they're coming back so fast." Backup Kellen Clemens makes his third straight start Sunday at Indianapolis for the Rams (3-6), who have lost three in a row.

Opportunity knocks for Rams' rookie Stedman Bailey -- and he's ready to answer

ST. LOUIS -- Giving more snaps to rookie receiver Stedman Bailey isn't going to turn around the Rams' season. Heck, Brett Favre in his prime would have been challenged to right the St. Louis ship. But when's it week 10 and you're 3-6, have lost your franchise quarterback for the season and the toughest part of your schedule still is to come, a positive development...

Tavon Austin's chance encounter with local prep evolves into a valuable bond

ST. LOUIS -- It started with a celebrity sighting and a request for a photo. But what happened next is still kind of difficult for Tim Cruesoe to believe. Cruesoe, a senior at Parkway North High School in suburban St. Louis, was at the Saint Louis Galleria with friends in late August when he recognized a famous face walking around the mall. Tavon Austin, a rookie wide receiver...

Rams' Kendricks suffers broken finger, may be sidelined

Aside from some bumps and bruises, the Rams came out of Sunday’s 28-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans relatively healthy. The exception is tight end Lance Kendricks. The third-year player suffered a fractured finger on his right hand while attempting to make a diving catch in the end zone. “We’re doing some tests right now, to see what’s the best way to go, whether we cast...

Weekly IDP Rankings: Week Ten For 2013 Fantasy Football

Before I get started talking IDPs for this week, it’s time to put you all at ease. I’m sure many of you spent your entire week tirelessly coming up with nicknames for Robert Quinn and Chris Long, as I suggested last week. But it turns out that they beat us to the punch. Though no announcers ever mention it, the two dominant pass-rushers in St. Louis have nicknamed themselves...

Time to put it to the St. Louis Rams. Go Colts!

After the nailbiter comeback on Sunday Night Football in Week 9 it’s time for the Colts to return home and face the St. Louis Rams. It seems anything can happen in terms of what this team looks like from week to week, and I’m hoping to see a more solid sixty minute performance in Week 10. The bright spots in the Colts’ first week without Reggie Wayne in the lineup were that...

Morning Ram-blings: Hayes' frustration

Of the many emotions readily available in the St. Louis Rams locker room Sunday after yet another disappointing loss to the Tennessee Titans, there was one more abundant than all the rest: frustration. That frustration was written all over defensive end Chris Long's face and evident in the exasperated voice of defensive tackle Kendall Langford . But nowhere was it more easy...

St. Louis Rams at Indianapolis Colts: 2013 Week 10 NFL Pick

St. Louis Rams (3-6) at Indianapolis Colts (6-2) On paper, this line might be a little bit too high. The Colts are moving the chains at a 79% rate, as opposed to 75% for their opponents. Meanwhile, the Rams are moving the chains at a 72% rate, as opposed to 74% for their opponents. That suggests this line should be around 7, instead of 9.5. That being said, that doesn’t take into...
