Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker, Barkevious Mingo, is
feeling better after suffering a bruised lung during the Browns’ preseason tilt
against the Lions.
David Smith of NBCSports reports that Mingo is feeling fine after a two-night
stay in a local area hospital. A bruised
lung is a serious injury that can lead to massive blood loss if left
untreated. The star rookie out of
Louisiana State University should be thankful to the Browns’ fast thinking
medical staff. The team’s medical
personnel acted professionally and appropriately when they noticed Mingo
spitting up blood on the sidelines.
It is likely the Browns’ sixth overall pick in the 2013 NFL
draft will miss the rest of the preseason, as the Browns will take no chances
with their prized LB. This is a perfect
example as to why the preseason is unavoidable.
Not only does the preseason get players and coaches game ready but medical
staff as well. Thankfully, for
Cleveland, the medical staff of the Browns is already ready for kickoff.
