Browns running back Trent Richardson underwent arthroscopic surgery Thursday on his left knee. After Richardson was held out of Tuesday's practice with a sore knee, the team announced that he was going to visit Dr. James Andrews in Florida. "Richardson underwent a successful routine arthroscopic procedure today on his left knee," Browns coach Pat Shurmur said. "We anticipate that Trent will make a speedy recovery, and we are hopeful that he will be ready for our Week One game against Philadelphia." The Browns traded up in this year's draft to get Richardson with the third overall pick. He set Alabama single-season records for rushing yards (1,679), rushing touchdowns (21) and all-purpose yards (2,083) in 2011. Cleveland opens the 2012 season against the Eagles on September 9.
