Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas was named the NHL's first star for November after leading the defending Stanley Cup champions to a near-perfect month. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner won all nine of his starts in November with a 1.76 goals-against average. The Bruins posted a 12-0-1 mark in the month to claim the lead in the Northeast Division. Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and Joffrey Lupul of the Toronto Maple Leafs were also honored. Toews collected nine goals and nine assists this month for the Blackhawks, who pulled into a tie with the Detroit Red Wings atop the Central Division. Lupul led all NHL scorers in November with 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists).
