Kobe Bryant doesn’t think it's his place to persuade Dwight Howard to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
"It has to be his decision. The last thing you want to do is convince a person that they want to be here," Bryant said. "If you have to convince them when challenges or adversity comes up next season, it's very easy to say, 'Well they had to convince me to be here anyway, I really didn't want to be here, I'd rather be (somewhere else) but they sold me on it.' You want it to be his decision. When it's something that's rooted inside of him, it's something he champions. I just want to be there to assist his decision."
Bryant has made no secret of his desire to see Howard back with the Lakers.
"I think his talent level, his defensive prowess," Bryant said. "We saw what he could do at the end of the year when we all started clicking … I think that makes him extremely, extremely valuable."

ROAD TO RECOVERY
Kobe Bryant took to his Instagram account today to post a photo of him shooting a jumper in the Lakers’ practice gym. It is fairly amazing to think that Kobe is already back on the court, even if that doesn’t include running or jumping. The man has some incredible work ethic and dedication. Kobe tore his Achilles tendon on April 12 during a game against the Golden State Warriors...

The stakes are high in the Dwight Howard free agency game.
First, it was the Lakers who begged Howard to stay in Los Angeles. Now, a Dallas-area food chain is offering Howard free food for the rest of his life should he choose to sign with the Mavericks.

Rapper and Houston native, Slim Thug, is putting on his full-court-press on NBA free-agent Dwight Howard today on Twitter. Stayve Jerome Thomas (Slim Thug) is trying to sell Howard on Houston’s strip clubs, not having Kobe on the Rockets, the tax laws and not having pressure to win it all this year.
Slim Thug sent out these tweets at Howard’s direction today:
Yesterday, the Los Angeles Lakers Twitter feed decided to continue their #StayD12 campaign as they posted an image of Howard’s #12 jersey draped on the facade of the Beverly Hills Hotel:

As you might figure, the image was photoshopped but only appears to be the first of the photoshop jobs to be...
A self-proclaimed realtor is claiming via Twitter that Dwight Howard is looking at houses in Houston today.
It was recently reported that the All-Star center is unlikely to resign with the Lakers and has the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets atop his list of destinations. This is just speculation of course, but assuming he’s not looking for a summer home, this could indicate...

AS GOOD AS IT GETS
As our latest Dwight-mare begins, the Lakers have been pulling out all the stops. There's the rumored TV show that has been offered to him as well as a phone call Howard received from Jack Nicholson.
The Dwight Howard sweepstakes are set to start in about 7 hours, and the Houston Rockets are up first.
The Lakers have done everything they can to get Howard to re-sign, even going out of their way to hang up billboards all across Los Angeles.
Phil Jackson has now reached out to Howard via Twitter, and even though the message was later taken down, Jackson wants Howard to get on board...
The phrase that is being used in the report from Mavericks.com is “Imperfect Plan B”. I would say that is an accurate statement in regard to going from Howard to Bynum.
Dwight Howard isn’t perfect, but at least he plays. Bynum would be an extreme risk, but it looks like it is one the Mavericks are willing to take.
Sources tell us Andrew Bynum represents an ‘imperfect Plan...
Rapper Slim Thug already made a pretty awesome sales pitch for Dwight Howard to go to the Houston Rockets, but don’t count out the Los Angeles Lakers in this competition.
