LeRoyMcConnell III Its been 15 years since Bryce Drew wore a Valparaiso Crusader uniform, hitting that immaculate buzzer beater over 4seeded Ole Miss in the 1998 first round of the NCAA tournament. It was a little over two seconds left in the game and the Crusaders had to go the length of the court down by two points. Bryce’s father, Homer Drew, was the coach on the sideline watching his son perform heroics as he nails a 23 foot 3point shot to win Valparaiso’s first ever NCAA victory.
Now it’s Bryce’s turn to manned the very same sidelines his father did back in 1998, and so far he was able to see some magic first hand Saturday night as his Valpo team beat Green Bay with some familiar heroics. Ryan Broekhoff saves the day for Crusaders as he hits a fade-away three for the game winner. Watch the video below and look at the reaction of second year coach Bryce Drew. Priceless!
