Brandon Jennings buried a wide open three with 24 seconds left to give Milwaukee a 90-88 lead, and the Bucks held on for a 91-88 victory when Paul Pierce and Jason Terry both missed long three point attempts just before the final buzzer. Boston began the night with a 17-0 run, holding Milwaukee scoreless for the first five and a half minutes of the game.  The Celtics led 27-11 after the opening period, the fewest points the C's have allowed in a quarter all season.  Unfortunately they followed it up with their worst defensive frame of the year in the second, getting outscored 36-21, and leading by just a single point at halftime (48-47).  The Bucks took their first lead of the game (51-50) shortly after the start of the second half, and after 3 quarters it was tied at 69. Center Larry Sanders had a monster game in a reserve role for the Bucks, putting up 18 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 blocks.  Old friend Marquis Daniels started for Milwaukee and logged 8 points and 5 assists in...

Your Morning Dump… Where Doc loves Jason Terry

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “He’s a pro. He’s been in the league for so long that nothing rattles him,” Rivers said of Terry. “I think he would still rather come off the bench, but he wants to do what we need. He never asks questions...

Paul Pierce's Terrible No Good Week

Paul Pierce hasn't had the best of weeks. It took overtime for the Celtics to beat the Magic and then they got embarrassed by the Nets. Pierce has looked his age in the past couple of games, especially on defense. First, there was Jameer Nelson And then there was Joe Johnson Here's hoping the Captain gets his mojo back. This is getting painful to watch. ...

Enemy Chatter: Marquis Daniels and Mbah a Moute played tough defense on Pierce

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Milwaukee. Marquis Daniels Daniels played tough defense all night on Paul Pierce all game and gave the Bucks god versatility against the Pierce/Terry pick and roll late. He offers preciously little on the other end, but he knows his limitations...

Jason Terry Is ‘Fun’ Player Who Doc Rivers Thinks Everyone Should Have Opportunity to Coach

BOSTON — Jason Terry has had difficulty finding his niche so far in Boston, but no matter how inconsistent his scoring totals have been, the veteran guard has already made an impression on his new coach. Terry dropped 17 points to lead all Celtics starters in Boston’s 96-78 victory over Portland on Friday. That came just one week after he was held to five points against Oklahoma...

Rondo is one of the NBA’s best mid-range shooters

Bleacher Report’s Jared Wade researched the NBA’s best shooters from each area on the court. Three Celtics make the Top 10 in the mid-range category (10 – 23 feet); Jason Terry (not surprised), Courtney Lee (mildly suprised considering his rough start to season) and… Rajon Rondo. The Mid-Range (minimum 20 makes) 1. Chris Bosh, 48-for-85 (56.5 percent) 2. Beno Udrih, 28-for...

A Few Random Thoughts on Celtics/Nets Fight

First of all this sets up a pretty heated Christmas Day game right off the bat. It should get some good ratings. You have to wonder if the league wanted to set up a rivalry between these two teams for ratings purposes. Yes, I know I'm getting into tinfoil hat areas here, but I can't help but wonder.  In the first outing between the Celtics and the Nets,  Keith Bogans...

Celtics Live Blog: Jason Terry, Courtney Lee Try to Win Two Straight Replacing Rajon Rondo

5 p.m. ET: The Celtics were lucky to have back-to-back games on their schedule with their star point guard, Rajon Rondo, suspended for two games after fighting with Nets forward Kris Humphries. Putting Out The Blaze

Basketball is one of the most eloquent, graceful and beautiful sports to watch. The way some players glide up and down the court or shoot a perfectly balanced jumpshot makes many fans appreciate the sport. Tonight the Celtics completely butchered that for the Blazers, something we've been waiting for and are happily welcoming. Some might light up when they see the Jeff Green...
