Free-agent shooting guard O.J. Mayo has officially signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, the team announced Saturday. While the Bucks didnt announce the terms of the deal, a league source indicated the deal is for three-years, 24 million. Mayo, 25, averaged 15.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game for the Dallas Mavericks last season, while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 40.7 percent on 3-pointers. After playing a collegiate season at the University of Southern California, Mayo was the third overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. His draft rights were later traded to the Memphis Grizzlies along with Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker and Greg Buckner in exchange for the draft rights to Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Jason Collins. In four seasons with the Grizzlies, Mayo averaged 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. His best statistical season came in his rookie year, where he averaged 18.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, finishing second to Derrick Rose for the NBA's Rookie of the Year. Memphis did not extend a qualifying offer to Mayo following the 2011-12 season, meaning he was an unrestricted free agent. He signed a one-year, 4 million deal with the Mavericks last July. With Monta Ellis reportedly signing with Dallas, Mayo will replace Ellis as Milwaukees starting shooting guard, while Ellis will take Mayos spot as the starting two-guard with the Mavericks. Mayo is the first of Milwaukees free-agent acquisitions to officially sign with the team, as the Bucks have yet to make the signings of center Zaza Pachulia and small forward Carlos Delfino official. On Thursday, the Bucks acquired veteran point guard Luke Ridnour from Minnesota in a three-team trade. Follow Andrew Gruman on Twitter
