Going into the NBA Draft this year, this has had to be the least exciting draft for me. There wasn’t much reason to be too hyped for it, as the Bulls are already a great team, and they came into the draft picking 28th and 30th. For this draft, I didn’t really have any high hopes of the Bulls selecting any particular player, and just wanted to see what the front office decided to do. Gar Forman and John Paxson have done a good job picking late in the draft, taking Chris Duhon, Taj Gibson, and Omer Asik, so I have some faith that they would do a good job finding at least one good prospect this year.
In the end, the Bulls ended up taking Nikola Mirotic with the 23rd pick via a trade involving the 28th and 43rd picks, and took Jimmy Butler of Marquette with the 30th pick in the draft.
