Panthers Locker:
22-year old QB Cam Newton looked really good early this year for the Panthers, but he has looked like the rookie he is in his last couple games. In Newton’s last two games, he has completed 45 of 78 passes (57.7%) for 492 yards with 1 TD pass and 5 INTs. Overall this year, Newton’s numbers still look solid. He has played in 10 games for the Panthers so far this year and he has completed 219 of 365 passes (60%) for 2,885 yards with 12 TD passes and 14 INTs (80.0 QB Rating). He has also carried the ball 77 times for 411 yards (5.3 ypc) with 9 TD runs so far this year. Newton’s 9 TD runs have already broke Vince Young’s NFL record (8 rushing TDs), and he still has six games to go.

Good luck with that.
With Newton's running ability giving the Panthers' offense an added dimension, particularly in the red zone, the rookie quarterback continues to get between seven to 10 carries a game.
And that's fine with Newton.

Colts coach: Newton 'playing exceptional football'
Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell is spending most of his time these days trying to squeeze a victory or two out of his winless football team and the next opportunity for the 0-10 Colts comes Sunday when they host the Panthers.
While Caldwell is focused primarily on breathing some life into a stagnant offense, he's taken time to study Panthers quarterback...
Detroit Lions 49, Carolina Panthers 35
The Carolina Panthers raced off to a 27-14 lead at the half, before the Lions exploded in the second half. The Panthers did tie the game at 35 apiece, but they just couldn’t stop the Lions the rest of the way. Cam Newton made more big plays for the Lions than he did for the Panthers today. Huge third-and-15 stop for Lions
Cam Newton's pass intended to Steve Smith falls incomplete. A first down could've been the clincher for the Panthers, considering how this game has been going.

(By Joseph Person, jperson@charlotteobserver.com) D QUARTERBACK: Cam Newton reverted to his preseason form - throwing high, throwing wild, looking erratic. Fantasy Land: Week 11 Remembered
Matthew Stafford hadn't been right for a couple of weeks. He had been OK, but earlier this year, Stafford was better than OK and has consistenly been one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy play.
On Sunday against Cam Newton and the porous Carolina Panthers' pass defense, Stafford was in line for a big day.
And for a while, it looked as if he'd get stood up by the Panthers...
Carolina Panthers: Position-By-Position Analysis
The key players on the Panthers' roster will remain largely intact through the 2012 season and, in many cases, longer than that. A position-by-position analysis by Observer columnist Scott Fowler:
Quarterbacks: The electrifying Cam Newton has made the team relevant again. He's signed through the 2014 season, but expect the Panthers to use all means at their disposal (franchise...
Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions: 1st quarter running diary
FOX has the game, and have assgned the Stockton - Lynch PBP combo...again. Feels like they have become the designated Lions' broadcasters, for better or worse. Usually worse. Stockton has been showing his age, and Lynch is, well, meh.
Where's Gus Johnson when you really need hmi?
Lions start with the ball, and come out throwing. A long pass to Megatron just misses, as...
