It’s no secret that Colt McCoy, the incumbent starter for the Cleveland Browns, can be had in a trade. The Browns drafted Brandon Weeden in the 1st round of the 2012 NFL Draft to replace the mediocre McCoy and immediately shopped him on draft day with no results. They have reportedly lowered their asking price and will accept “minimal compensation” in order to give McCoy “new team, a new opportunity, to spare him the ignominy of being released,” according to both ESPN Cleveland and NFL.com.
Colt McCoy’s younger brother Case, currently a quarterback at Colt’s alma mater The University of Texas, fell victim to a fake Twitter report that Colt had been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and tweeted “Good luck Brandon (Weeden)! Fan of you, but my brother’s pulling the lucky straw on this one! Cleveland is only going downhill” before realizing that it was fake and apologizing. It’s definitely possible that tweet is also the sentiment being felt by McCoy as he hears his name in trade talks,...

Colt McCoy's brother, Case McCoy, took to his Twitter account to rip the Browns for trading Colt. The only problem is the Browns haven't traded Colt.
Case McCoy, the brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, ripped his brother’s team on Twitter Friday in response to a fake trade rumor.
Case, who is a quarterback at the University of Texas, apparently had been duped by a fake ESPN Twitter account that said his brother had been traded to the Eagles. He sent the following tweet, which has since been deleted:
Let’s face facts; Colt McCoy will be traded sooner than later. The Browns want very little compensation for him and there is something of a market for him.
His departure out of Cleveland is so assured that I thought twice about writing this list because I’m not sure I can get it up fast enough before the deal is done.
So with that said, one of these five teams will probably...
In his most recent Monday Morning Quarterback Column, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King (once again) weighs in on the Colt McCoy situation in Cleveland, this time, giving the third-year quarterback a vote of confidence.
“I think the Browns should hang onto Colt McCoy,” writes King. ”I do like Brandon Weeden, but how sure a thing is he? And if he plays poorly over the next...
As the opening of NFL training camps draw closer, it’s looking inevitable that the Cleveland Browns will be moving QB Colt McCoy either through a trade or even an outright release. Two reports surfaced Friday that the Cleveland Browns are only seeking minimal compensation in return for Colt McCoy, perhaps a sixth-round draft pick. The jury remains out as to whether or not McCoy...
After drafting quarterback Brandon Weeden out of Oklahoma State in the first round of April’s draft, it appears the Cleveland Browns are willing to deal previous starter Colt McCoy relatively cheap. It’s not so much that the Browns aren’t sensitive to the fact that McCoy has already endured a difficult situation in Cleveland, but rather that they’re looking to start Weeden...
Admit it, you have seen a few Tweets from @AdarnSchefter or @rnortreport and thought they were the real deal. The font on Twitter can be deceiving at times. Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy was announced to have been traded yesterday by a fake ESPN Twitter account, and it duped his younger brother, Case. This led [...]
Many people in Cleveland May already know, former Browns Beat writer Tony Grossi does thing to irritate the Cleveland Browns and team President Mike Holmgren. The latest is Grossi’s attempts to interpret things Holmgren says negatively when it comes to what the team is going to do with Browns quarterback Colt McCoy. Browns President Holmgren said at his latest press conference...
Case McCoy is currently a quarterback at the University of Texas, just as his older brother Colt once was. Of course, Colt McCoy has moved onto the NFL where he has been the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns for the last couple seasons. Nevertheless, Colt McCoy's time in Cleveland appears to be numbered with the Browns selecting Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden...
Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy has been center stage for numerous sports writers due to the quarterback competition in Cleveland and of course rumors of him being on the trading block. Although the pressure of trying to prove to the Browns front office that you are "still the guy" when it comes to filling the starting position must be taking it's toll,...
Over the weekend, we talked a bit about Michael Vick‘s future in Philadelphia. Our general conclusion was that his future here actually seems quite secure given the lack of an heir apparent. Unless Mike Kafka lights it up in preseason, there’s really not a QB on this roster other than Vick that right now looks like a viable NFL starter.
Like I said over the weekend, there’s...
Hey, at least Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy isn’t enjoying life while his job with the team hangs in limbo. Here he is on stage, singing, with Brad Paisley. For the sake of your ears, and your fellow employees, turned down the volume. Even though Colt is having wait patiently like a girl who gave [...]
With Brandon Weeden impressing in offseason practices, speculation has picked up once again about the Browns possibly trading Colt McCoy. The Browns tried to move McCoy on draft day, after using a 1st round pick on Brandon Weeden, but could not find a suitor. According to ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi, the Browns are not only interested in moving McCoy, but won’t ask much in return...
It’s official, Colt McCoy sings like he plays quarterback!
Brad Paisley recently performed in Ohio and pulled Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy onstage to help him sing “I’m Still a Guy“. The “starting” quarterbacks performance was shaky at best and it seems like he may still be suffering from concussion side effects due to this hit delivered by James Harrison...
A month ago, I was scorched by a burning river of Browns fans for saying that Greg Little disappointed and Colt McCoy had no weapons. The insults and expletives grunted into cyberspace by these Dawg-crazed nuts barked that the blame for the team’s meager passing game rested squarely and solely on Colt McCoy. He (called “hot dumpster water” by one fan) was the team’s only...
