Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced earlier that the team fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. Many, including myself, considered Castillo a scapegoat as the defense has been far from the teams biggest problem. The problem has been on the offensive side of the ball and some reports have Michael Vick as being the next on the chopping block.
During today’s press conference was asked whether or not he was committed to Vick as his starting quarterback. His repsonse via Tim McManus of Phillymag.com, “Today, I am.” Not exactly a glowing endorsement and even worse then the comments Reid made about Vick a couple weeks ago.
ProfootballTalk also talks about the possibility of Nick Foles taking over for Michael after the bye week. I don’t think that will be the case but I definitely agree that the team will spend the bye week getting Foles ready in case that day comes, which I’m sure will.
