Wait, what did I miss? O that is right! As the city of Boston continues to celebrate an NHL championship, our favorite Boston team (which is team #30 I think on the cities "We Care About You" Sports List) announced today they have a new coach. The school announced that Joe Jones was the newest head coach for the Terriers program. After a long search, the answer was only a few minutes down the road at Boston College.

Jones spent last season as an assistant coach with the Eagles. Prior to that, he was head coach of Columbia from 2003-2010. He has coached in the AE (assistant at Hofstra back in the 1990's) and has connection across New York and Long Island. His brother, James Jones, is head coach of Yale (hmmm, wonder if that game will get scheduled soon?)

I think it is a great get for BU. You get a guy who has lived in the Boston sports scene and knows how to work for a university which prides its self on academic success. The connection to upstate and downstate NY can also be key for recruiting. Bravo BU on this hire. Welcome to the AE Joe!

A press conference to announce the hiring will take place on Monday, June 27th.
