5 p.m. ET: The Celtics were lucky to have back-to-back games on their schedule with their star point guard, Rajon Rondo, suspended for two games after fighting with Nets forward Kris Humphries. Boston is able to get the games out of the way against lesser opponents before Rondo can come back.
The 9-7 Celtics will take on the 7-7 Bucks for the third time this season, after splitting the first two back in early November. The Bucks started the 2012-13 season off hot going 6-2, but they’ve been in a nosedive since — dropping six of their last seven, including a 95-85 loss to the Timberwolves on Friday night.
Courtney Lee will be expected to fill Rondo’s shoes for a second-straight night on Saturday. Lee had 10 points with seven rebounds and five assists on Friday night against the Trailblazers in a 96-78 victory where Boston never trailed. It was Lee’s season-high in assists. Jason Terry had a big game against Portland, scoring 17 points while shooting 7 for eleven from the field. He is...

Rondo is still a good basketball player
Rondo’s ‘determined to show I can become a leader’ campaign took a hit in many people’s eyes when he lost his composure in the game on Wednesday against the Nets. I do not see it that way, as he showed he can become the emotional leader once the days of Kevin Garnett are over. Sure he was short fused, but he also displayed unrivaled support for his teammates. There...
Courtney Lee pokes fun at himself on twitter over struggling jump shot
Some people don't like Courtney Lee, but I remain a fan. If you were hoping to get an in prime version of Ray Allen then yeah you might be disappointed. But for the MLE, I think Lee gives you a lot. He can play D and shoot the ball. Unfortunately he's not knocking down a high percentage of jumpers this year and people have turned on him a bit. Hopefully after tonight'...
The Rajon Rondo Suspension Is Handed Down
2 games.
That’s all that Rajon Rondo will have to miss for his part in the brawl between the Celtics and the Nets.
Now that, is a slap on the wrist. Seriously.
Rondo met with league officials yesterday and one has to wonder just what exactly was discussed in that meeting.
Along with Rondo’s suspension, KG will get fined $25,000 and Gerald Wallace will be fined $35,000.
Probably...
Rondo suspended two games for Celtics-Nets altercation
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended two games for starting a fight between his team and the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, the NBA announced Thursday. "Rondo initiated everything that proceeded," referee James Capers told a pool reporter after watching a video review. The league also fined Nets forward Gerald Wallace $35,000 and Celtics forward...
Celtics Show Some Fight, Not Enough in the End
Well the Celtics showed that they still have some fight in them, but unfortunately it was not enough. When Humphries came crashing down on Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo immediately came to his defense. Then a bench clearing brawl ensued—a rarity in basketball. Whether or not Rondo should have done what he did is a different story. Some could say that he was a great teammate and a...

I bet when you see 3 green arrows come up for Courtney Lee, you expect a siren to go off and coins to come pouring out of your monitor somehow. I’m going to look past a few of the misses because as we’ve...
Celts cruise despite Rondo's absence
Jeff Green scored 19 points, Jason Terry added 17 and the Boston
Celtics cruised to a comfortable win without Rajon Rondo, topping
the Portland Trail Blazers 96-78 on Friday night.
Recap: No Rondo? No problem..

The Celtics pasted the Portland Trailblazers at TD Garden tonight, 96-78. Courtney Lee and Jeff Green both stepped-up, and Kevin Garnett was vintage KG. He scored his 10 points on a variety of bank shots, fadeaways and sweet jumpers. Ticket also finished with 5 boards & 4 assists in 23 minutes. Jeff Green was aggressive from the jump and led the C’s with...
Vote: Do You Agree With Doc Rivers’ Assessment That the Celtics Are a ‘Soft’ Team?
On Wednesday the Celtics lost to the Brooklyn Nets 95-83 on their home court, and Doc Rivers refused to mince words afterwards.
In the wake of a game that saw Rajon Rondo ejected (and his double-digit assist streak end), Rivers pointedly called the team “soft” in his postgame comments. Rivers even seemed to specifically refer to Rondo’s actions, saying “that stuff’s not...
Celtics Live Blog: Paul Pierce, C’s Host Rookie Sensation Damian Lillard, Blazers Without Rajon Rondo
8 a.m. ET: In all likelihood, no team wants to get back on the court more than the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Blazers became the first team to fall to the Washington Wizards this season when they dropped an 84-82 decision to Nene and company on Wednesday. Once a regular playoff participant, the Blazers have missed out on the postseason the last two years and are off to a disappointing...
A Few Random Thoughts on Celtics/Nets Fight
First of all this sets up a pretty heated Christmas Day game right off the bat. It should get some good ratings. You have to wonder if the league wanted to set up a rivalry between these two teams for ratings purposes. Yes, I know I'm getting into tinfoil hat areas here, but I can't help but wonder.
In the first outing between the Celtics and the Nets, Keith Bogans...
Bucks knock off Celtics 91-88
Brandon Jennings buried a wide open three with 24 seconds left to give Milwaukee a 90-88 lead, and the Bucks held on for a 91-88 victory when Paul Pierce and Jason Terry both missed long three point attempts just before the final buzzer.
Boston began the night with a 17-0 run, holding Milwaukee scoreless for the first five and a half minutes of the game. The Celtics led 27-11...
