The Celtics (14-15) failed to get the win against the Warriors (21-10) without Rajon Rondo, and looked pretty bad in the process. Rondo sat out with a hip and thigh injury and the Celtics needed everyone else to pick up the slack, which they didn't. Paul Pierce, Jason Terry and Jeff Green shot 12-50 and the team as a whole shot 36 percent. While Golden State couldn't miss, shooting 51 percent from the floor. The games high scorers were Stephen Curry with 22 points and David Lee with 20. For Boston, Kevin Garnett had six points, three rebounds, four assists and a couple steals, Pierce finished with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists and Courtney Lee had 18 points and was 2-3 from the three-point line. The first two Celtics in double figures were Lee and Jared Sullinger. Sullinger had a good game, scoring on his first four shots, finishing 6-8 for 12 points and eight rebounds before leaving in the fourth quarter with a bloody nose from a shot from David Lee. The...

Sports Illustrated includes Courtney Lee on their "All-Disappointment Team"

Enemy Chatter: A Kings blogger thinks the Celtics have a good defense

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Sacramento. Isaiah Thomas torched Boston’s vaunted defense through repeated drives to the basket and shots from outside. Thomas scored a season-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting and added 5 assists and 4 rebounds. His counterpart, Rajon...

All-NBA “Ugliest Jump Shot” Team

Some players’ jump shots in the NBA are so ugly, they bring two things to mind. One: how does their shot ever go in? Two: how have they not learned to shoot?  Of the players on the Ugliest Jump Shot Team, only one is a decent shooter, despite the fact that he uses more elbow on his jumper then Metta World Peace does on James Harden. PG: Rajon Rondo via bleacherreport.com Rondo’s...

My first Boston Celtics' Game Gone Wrong

Celticslife writers looking good Disappointing, disgrace, upsetting. That is exactly how I felt going to my first Boston Celtics' game last night. I was really excited to go, and when I first bought the ticket in October, I thought it would be a guaranteed win, but I was totally wrong. I first met Paul Pierce in 2002, giving away signed autographs of his game "NBA Inside...

Enemy Chatter: Harrison Barnes’ fresh legs & athleticism bothered Paul Pierce all night

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from northern California. Though the Warriors were the team playing a back-to-back, Boston was the one that looked old and tired. Especially when compared to the 20-year-old Barnes, whose fresh legs and athleticism bothered Pierce all night. Pierce...

Celtics-Warriors Live: Rajon Rondo, C’s Take on Resurgent Golden State, Led by Stephen Curry

8 a.m. ET: The Golden State Warriors have not exactly had a marquee rivalry with the Celtics in recent years, and the matchup could be just as lopsided this time — only the lopsidedness could go in a different direction. The Warriors (19-10), led by a potential future All-Star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, host the Celtics (14-14), who come to Oakland searching...

Boston Celtics have been REALLY bad at defending spot-up sets

I’m guessing most of you don’t feel like re-watching the carnage that happened over the past few days, but not to worry: I hated myself enough to review what happened. You can thank me with gift baskets. Now let’s talk about how awful Boston’s defense has been before I go back to banging my head painfully against the corner of a cabinet. There’s been a common theme —a...

Recap: Rondo-less C’s struggle to keep up with Warriors

I’ll say this for the Boston Celtics, they didn’t give up.  They were down 20 in the third quarter, but they made a big run to cut it to single-digits by the 4th.  But the Celtics just couldn’t keep pace with Golden State.  As Doc says, it’s a make/miss league, and the Celtics missed.. a lot… in a big loss to Golden State. The Green Jared Sullinger played his ass off...
