The Arena Pulse PS:
Fran McCafferyBy Paul Seaver (TheArenaPulse) Not happy with his team's play and not happy with how things were going, Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery went on an infamous tirade on Jan. 10 at Michigan State.
It now appears something good has come out of McCaffery's actions, as the chair itself was sold for $2,100 in donation towards the Iowa baseball program.
Trailing 69-41 with under 11 minutes remaining, McCaffery went off, first picking up a technical foul for yelling at the officials and then picking up a Michigan State chair and slamming down on the floor during a timeout.
Iowa communications director Matt Weitzel tweeted out a photo of the auctioned chair.
McCaffery signed the chair and also added two slogans on the right hand side. One read "Go Hawks!" and the other said, "Coach with passion!"
Here's some video footage of McCaffery back on Jan. 10 in East Lansing:
