Nazem Kadri recorded his second hat-trick this season and moved up to sixth in the NHL in points as the Leafs went on to beat the Ottawa Senators 4-0 last night. What a breakout year it's been for Kadri. In the post-game show on CBC, Don Cherry and Ron MacLean even decided to bring Kadri, Orr and McLaren (who had an unbelievable fight last night), backstage. After praising the three Leafs forwards, Cherry gave Nazem Kadri a kiss. It was much like the infamous kiss Cherry gave to Doug Gilmour.I wonder if this will be played over and over again in the future just like Gilmour's...Granted, Doug Gilmour got the lips while Nazem Kadri got the cheek. Gives you something to strive for, kid. - Puck DaddyThe magic number in the Eastern Conference this year to reach the playoffs is 53 points. That would mean the Leafs would just need nine more points over the next 12 games to end the eight year playoff drought. More Great Content

Kadri's hat trick earns kiss from Don Cherry

Toronto's Nazem Kadri had yet another big night, notching a hat trick in a 4-0 victory against the Ottawa Senators. Kadri also assisted on the team's fourth goal, giving him a total of 17 goals and 22 assists (39 points) through 36 games. Kadri has been one of the best stories of the 2013 season and has been one of the NHL's biggest breakout players.  How did Don...

Don Cherry talks about the Calgary Flames’ downfall, gives Nazem Kadri the Gilmour treatment

Don Cherry gave a spirited pre-Easter "sermon," if you will, on Saturday Night's Coach's Corner, praising John Cooper's first win with the Tampa Bay Lightning, goaltending coach Rick Walmsley's work with the Ottawa Senators, and he adds the usual amount of Leaf-love and then he launches into quite the rant about Jarome Iginla's decision to join the Pittsburgh...

Kadri hat trick lifts Leafs

Nazem Kadri scored a hat trick and James Reimer made 31 saves Saturday as the Toronto Maple Leafs won their third straight game with a 4-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Joffrey Lupul also scored and added three assists for the Leafs, while Kadri also picked up an assist. Toronto extended its point streak to eight games. Ben Bishop made 19 saves for the Senators, who were coming...

Ottawa Senators unwilling to trade top youngsters

Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray has some excellent trade chips to spend at the trade deadline, if he so chooses.Rebuilding teams have great interest in young forwards Jakob Silfverberg and Mika Zibanejad, two emerging scoring line talents. Also, either Ben Bishop or Robin Lehner would offer much appeal should Murray elect to depart with one of his younger goaltenders...

Travis Yost: Ben Bishop on the Move?

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- The Ottawa Senators have been pretty vocal about how they're approaching the trade deadline: they're not going to shy away from a move, but right now, the biggest source of help in preparation from the post-season would simply include a return to health. Milan Michalek, Jason Spezza, Jared Cowen, and Craig Anderson are just four...

NHL Fights: Frazer McLaren Beats Down Matt Kassian

Saturday night’s Ottawa-Toronto game featured several fights, but Frazer McLaren’s quick knockdown o…

Travis Yost: Ottawa's Penalty Kill is a Mirage

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- One of the talking points during CBC's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast was the match-up of two seemingly elite penalty kill units in the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators. It seemed like a decent generalization to make for a broadcast that's trying to squeeze in as many tidbits as possible: Ottawa's killing off 89...

Should the Senators Should (Glen)Cross Him Off Their List?

When I read this morning’s article in the Ottawa Sun which indicated the Senators had expressed interest in Calgary Flames forward Curtis Glencross, I was hardly surprised. Slated to earn $2.55 million through the 2014/15 season, Glencross is a rarity on the Flames’ roster – a marketable commodity who is actually: a) cost-effective; b) at a relatively decent age; and c...

Game of Thrones - Senators Style

Senators House Sigil done by Habs Laugh. Check it out.  What do we say to serious posts? Not today. With the highly anticipated return of HBO’s Game of Thrones on television, I figured it would be an opportune time to break away from the statistics, analysis and news to bring you readers something slightly different. Using characters from the series,...
