The Kansas City Chiefs signed defensive lineman Shaun Smith on Monday, according to the Kansas City Star. Smith, who played for the Chiefs in 2010, was released by the Tennessee Titans in August. The Smith signing may be related to defensive end Glenn Dorsey's calf injury. Dorsey returned after missing four games Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers but left the game and did not return after aggravated the injury. NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk recalled a 2008 incident in which Smith punched Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn in the face when the two were teammates with the Cleveland Browns. Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel was the Browns coach then.

Bud Adams threatens entire organization after embarrassing loss

The Tennessee Titans lost their match-up with the Chicago Bears this past Sunday, being dismantled 51-20. Having 50 points put on you and losing by 31 has to be extremely embarrassing for everyone associated with the Titans organization. Apparently, the owner will not stand for it. Bud Adams had some pointed comments about his team after the game. Per the Tennessean: Adams...

Chiefs release Stanford Routt

The Kansas City Chiefs have released cornerback Stanford Routt after only eight games since coming in as a free agent. Routt was brought in from Oakland to replace Brandon Carr, but he’s only been a big disappointment. The Chiefs signed defensive lineman Shaun Smith to take Routt’s spot.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script&...

Jamaal Charles Limited in Practice

Chiefs' running back Jamaal Charles was limited in practice with a neck problem stemming from a hard hit in the second half of last Thursday night's game.Fantasy Spin:Charles, who left Thursday's game after taking a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit in the fourth quarter, passed all his concussion tests and should be ready to go against Pittsburgh in Week 10, but with all...

NFL Rumors: Where will Kansas City Chiefs CB Stanford Routt land?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded away suspended cornerback Aqib Talib last week and now faces the loss of free agent CB acquisition Eric Wright for four games. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers must put in a waiver wire claim for veteran corner Stanford Routt. Routt was signed this offseason by the Kansas City Chiefs after being cut by the Oakland Raiders, but the Chiefs are a complete disaster...

Bud Adams lashes out at the embarrassing Titans

Bud Adams made his displeasure known following an embarrassing loss to the Chicago Bears. Something he probably should have shown much sooner than this. How many weeks of prevent defense do we have to look at? How many games do we have to watch talent on defense constantly being wiped out by bad play calling? We had to endure more than a year of watching Chris Johnson struggle because...

Chris Johnson Runs Wild Against Bears

Titans running back Chris Johnson went wild Sunday against the Chicago. He finished the day with 141 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries.Fantasy Spin:Johnson did lose a couple of fumbles but getting to 141 yards against the Bears' stout run defense is still an impressive feat, even if 80 of said yards came on one play in the fourth quarter.

NFL Pick ‘Em vs. A Hot Chick Week Nine: Tennessee Titans Cheerleader Jena

Finally, a week where we didn’t lose to a hot chick. Not to say we’re happy about our 2-3 record, but at least week eight ended in a tie. This week we’re going up against Tennessee Titans cheerleader Jena in what promises to be another barn-burner. The first time we went against a Titans cheerleader, Molly made us look silly after she finished the week 4-1. Let’s hope we...

Crennel relinquishes defensive duties

Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel relieved himself of duties as defensive coordinator on a day of massive changes that included the waiving of cornerback Stanford Routt and the signing of defensive tackle Shaun Smith. Crennel had been juggling head coaching and coordinator duties since taking over on an interim basis when Todd Haley was fired last December. Gary Gibbs will take over as...

One More Move?

According to a report from RotoWire.com, the Kansas City Chiefs released veteran DB Stanford Routt from the roster. Routt has put up 21 tackles with a forced fumble on top of 2 interceptions through his 8 games with the Chiefs. With him among the free agents, a lot of teams will be looking to add him to their roster to beef up depth for the stretch towards the playoffs. So should...

Titans Organization Put On Notice Following Blowout Loss

Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams seemed to have taken Sunday’s 51-20 home loss to the Chicago Bears pretty hard. So hard in fact, that he told reporters following the game that the entire organization will be “closely evaluated” over the remainder of the season. “In my 50 years of owning an NFL franchise, I am at a loss to recall a regular-season home game that was such a...

The Numbers Behind the Bear’s Domination of the Titans

Lovie Smith’s message to the team this week was to “have a fast start”. They clearly got the memo. In 2000, the Tennessee Titans pulled off the famous “Music City Miracle”. In 2012, the Bears stormed into Nashville and put on a performance that from this day forth should be known as the “Music City Massacre” (I’m trademarking this).   If they hadn’t done so already...
