Former Atlanta Braves third basemen Chipper Jones is throwing an exclusive bash for the Super Bowl. The throwdown is slated to commence just two blocks away from the venue where the big game will occur -- the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. However, a quick look over the event details has me believing that this is one gathering that isn't worth the hype. Here's a brief overview of what one could expect at the shindig, courtesy of the official event website:This will be the premier pre-game party and will provide an electric vibe that will enhance your Super Bowl experience. Live DJ entertainment along with 5 star New Orleans cuisine and a super premium open bar is included with all of our packages. It will be an exclusive opportunity to meet future Hall of Famer Chipper Jones in person along with other sports celebrities. Here's some more details:+ Tickets for the party range from $1,000 (V.I.P. Package) to $2,500 (V.I.P. Elite Package). Okay, someone is trying to profit a little bit here. That's fine. This is America.+ The other "celebrities" include current New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey and former MLB pitcher Brad Clontz. Who? That's all the star power you could muster?+ The menu includes such things as mini muffaluttas, turducken meat pies, and artichoke balls. Wait, what? How about a plate of wings or a side of queso? Is that too much to ask?Yeah, I think I may have to sit this one out. Sorry, Chipper. Via Deadspin.
