So why is he being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for a second round pick? Because the Nets are going for broke. And even if "going for broke" means going for the Rob Pelinka Special and picking up Carlos Boozer(notes) and Joe Johnson(notes) for way too much money, it's an attempt at bigger things. And when you're trying to clear space to come up with bigger things, cutting CDR's $850k contract for next season goes a ways toward that end. That's the thinking, at least.
