Coach Curl Update

Joe Curl, head coach of the UH women's basketball team, will be discharged from the hospital (in Dallas, TX) and returning to Houston today.Coach Curl has been in the hospital since Saturday, February 13, when he complained of chest pains. He was unable to coach in Houston's game on Sunday, February 14, versus SMU.According to his daughter, Angela, Coach Curl "has congestive heart failure, but will be controlled by meds. Has a vest with external defibrillator to get him back to Houston. His cardiologist will have to decide how long he will keep it and when he will need to get an upgrade on his pacemaker and an internal defibrillator."Coach Curl missed the entire 2007-2008 season when he suffered a heart attack in the preseason. The heart attack required double-bypass surgery.
