Quarterback Colt McCoy hasn’t been with the 49ers very long, but he already see’s a big difference in their attitude opposed to how things were with the Browns. “That’s going to be really special,” McCoy said, per the Star-Telegram. “When I walked in the building in San Francisco, it was the same feel [as at UT]. It’s a great organization, and their only focus is: We want to win, and we want to win now. That’s obviously different than some of the things that I’ve been part of the last few years. I was really happy about that.” McCoy understands what his role in San Francisco is going into this season. “That’s my role — to back up Colin,” McCoy said. “We all want to play. I think everybody’s career takes a different path. Ultimately, starting is the goal. But coach [Jim] Harbaugh and [offensive coordinator Greg] Roman are great offensive minds. There are so many positives there that I’ll go in and learn. I’m in my playbook right now. That’s kind of my job right now — get familiar with the system, what we’re doing. “I look forward to having a great spring. I’m going to dive in and help Colin as much as I can, be coachable, compete with myself and be the best I can be. You never know what happens.”   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

49ers’ Donte Whitner and Mario Manningham likely draft day cuts

The draft couldn’t come fast enough for San Francisco 49ers fans, but there may be a couple of players that won’t be 49ers anymore by how well draft day goes. I see Donte Whitner and Mario Manningham as the likely draft day cuts as the 49ers find replacements for them, because of financial reasons. The 49ers’ rookie draft class will hit the salary cap by an estimated 7,496...

The 49ers are making some great moves this offseason. What do they have left to do in the draft?

The 49ers fell just short of a Super Bowl victory last season.  But, don't feel sorry for them.  They've been very active this offseason and I really like the pieces they've added so far. At this point most teams have made their big moves in free agency.  The players remaining are either veterans at the end of their career or role players.  Teams are working draft...

According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers are working on a contract extension for guard Mike Iupati. Raiders’ owner Mark Davis admires what the 49ers have done

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis can’t help but admire how well the San Francisco 49ers’ has been put together over the past few years. “You have to have a very solid team and then you can plug one or two guys in,” Davis said in an exclusive interview with Bay Area News Group. “I hate to use the example of the team across the bay, but they’re in a position now where they...

2013 NFL Draft: Blitzing And Scrambling Up To Draft Day

The 49ers just traded for Colt McCoy to be a backup quarterback to Colin Kaepernick, but wouldn't Vince Young have been a better fit as his size, arm strength and style of play more closely matches Kaepernick's?  I know that coaches have had a problem with Young in the past but the comparison does make one wonder.Does Tyler Wilson remind anyone of a younger Tony Romo?Does...
