Colts Wide Receiver Sam Giguere Has Backup Plans in CFL

Colts.com is reporting that Colts receiver Sam Giguere was drafted eighth overall in the Canadian Football League draft. Giguere told Colts.com that he has the ability to play in the NFL.Giguere has a tough task to overcome. He would have to beat out Taj Smith, Brett McDermott, Austin Collie, Pierre Garcon, and Roy Hall. Last season Giguere played with the Colts during the preseason, but he failed to make the final roster.Were Giguere to fail to make the Colts roster in 2009, which is a likely possibility, he would sign with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Jim Caldwell told reporters during mini camp that Giguere has a chance to be the Colts slot receiver.
