After missing the past few days of practice with a virus, South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw returned to practice on Wednesday. Shaw has also been bothered by a sprained knee, but still managed to lead the Gamecocks over previously unbeaten Missouri last Saturday despite the injury and virus. According to a report by Josh Kendall of GoGamecocks.com, Shaw should be the starter in Saturday’s game against Mississippi State:
Connor Shaw returned to the practice field Wednesday after missing two days due to illness and is penciled into South Carolina’s starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Mississippi State.
“He didn’t take all the reps (Wednesday), but he took more than I probably thought he was going to today, so yeah he’ll be ready to go,” quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus said. “He’ll go get a good night sleep and hopefully get a bunch of (the reps) tomorrow.”
