PLAYERS: Cory Joseph
TEAMS: San Antonio Spurs
Cory Joseph has not received word yet on the fourth-year team option of his contract and is approaching his third season with the San Antonio Spurs with a sense of urgency. “They haven't told me if a fourth year is for sure yet, so obviously you've got to look at it as your last season right now,” Joseph said Monday. “I'm going to be playing hard and playing confident and hopefully make a jump in the right direction.” If the Spurs opt to extend Joseph's rookie-scale deal, the former 29th pick will receive a raise of $280,502, to $1.36 million. Last season, Joseph requested assignment to the Spurs' NBA Development League team, the Austin Toros, in order to hone his skills in game situations. He returned to the club late in the season and won the job as Parker's backup as the playoffs approached, appearing in 20 of 21 postseason games and averaging 3.0 points and 1.2 assists in fewer than 10 minutes per game.

SAN ANTONIO - While the San Antonio Spurs have had several new faces in camp this week, some of them were on the sidelines as the Spurs closed out training camp at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs today. Matt Bonner spends his NBA millions on … a Chevrolet Impala

San Antonio Spurs forward Matt Bonner may have a rep as someone who is ahem parsimonious with his NBA millions – notoriously both eating Subway and riding the subway while a member of the Toronto Raptors years ago – but some would argue that Bonner is being more sensible than anything. Case in point – after Bonner’s 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix recently bit the dust and with...

Horry: Shot in '95 WCF vs. Spurs most meaningful

When San Antonio Spurs fans think of Robert Horry's biggest shot, the game winner against the Detroit Pistons in the 2005 NBA Finals may come to mind. You can say the same thing about Los Angeles Lakers fans and how they might think his biggest shot was against the Sacramento Kings in the 2001 playoffs.   However, in Horry's opinion, neither of those big shots are...
