I believe this statement, but General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs Brian Burke, has one month to pull off a deal before the February 27th NHL trade deadline.
A player on the Maple Leafs radar could be San Jose Sharks winger Ryane Clowe Clowe, at age 28, is a UFA at the end of this season and has cap hit of $3.625 on his salary.
Now I know Clowe is injured and currently on the IR with a facial fracture. Though there are no worries here, Clowe’s earliest potential return date to game action, is at the start of the first full week in February.
For the 2010/11 season, Clowe has recorded 9 goals, 17 assist for 26 points.
Now as much as I would like to see players such as Rick Nash, Bobby Ryan or Ryan Getzlaf in blue and white. It is more realistic to acquire Clowe; he would have a cheaper price tag because of his UFA status and then Brian Burke ...
