The Cowboys draft is in the bag, and it was an interesting draft to say the least. The Cowboys first two picks had many fans dismayed for quite awhile, but in the overall scheme of things, this collection of rookies upgrade the roster, and we will be better in 2013. The Cowboys have infused a lot of young talent onto the roster, we still have the rookie redshirts from the previous draft class that will be in the mix as well.
Travis Frederick will likely play center and be the foundation to lead this offensive line. We knew Costa and Cook were not durable and not long-term guys. Frederick gives Romo added peace of mind and should help the guards play better as well. There may have not been a need for another TE, but we have Escobar now, and he will add another wrinkle for the offense and should help keep the defenses on their heels.
I’m pleased with the additions we have made, and we have some guys here that should supplant some older vets, and will provide insurance against injury ...

Jerry Jones warned his Dallas Cowboys fan base. If he moved in any direction in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, it would be backwards.
He was as good as his word as he traded the 18th pick in the 2013 NFL draft to a much better team than...

Offensive lineman Travis Frederick's beard was probably the most interesting topic. The Cowboys' first-round draft pick is currently sporting a beard that goes down to almost his chest.

Last night I almost ended it. Not my life, really, but my fandom. My love of a team that wants nothing more than to make me miserable. The Dallas Cowboys are a joke. This is, and can only [...]The post NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys Lose With Travis Frederick Pick appeared first on The Dallas...

The Cowboys managed to find a few possible role players after their first-round selection of Travis Frederick on Thursday. In light of the fact that I was on a fishing trip all weekend and did not post regular updates, here are some trivial facts about the selections from the first three rounds.

One of the most controversial selections in the 2013 NFL draft was the Dallas Cowboys drafting center Travis Frederick at 31. Jerry Jones is already being compared to the NFL’s new Al Davis, but I understand the pick. Every fan or analyst that says they could have drafted Frederick in the latter rounds might be right, but they might also be wrong. After Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel...
One of my favorite movies of all time is "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I think it is a fantastic adventure film starring the great Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and his quest to find the ark of the covenant. There is a particular scene when they are trying to pinpoint the exact location of the ark that he is worried that his rival, Belloq, has the same secret coordinates...

Let’s look closer at the guys we drafted today and what their roles will be in the 2013 season.

There were plenty of picks in the first round that have been questioned, but none more than the Cowboys’ selection of center Travis Frederick with the 31st pick. Dallas fans are furious and rightfully so. According to Ed Werder, other teams had Frederick graded as a mid to late round prospect.
Oh, and it gets better.
